What do I need to process payments on my web site?

With an ecommerce enabled web site you’ll be able to accept online funds with a merchant account, that is an account used to collect bank card payments, and then to send the funds to you. When funds are obtained, the money goes into the merchant account; the service provider account supplier will often direct deposit your funds each day, weekly, or monthly, depending on the settlement that you have with them.

You also want a gateway system for processing the payments, usually, this gateway is offered by a 3rd social gathering service, and there’s a fee for this service. Some merchant accounts will offer you the gateway; however these merchant accounts often cost higher rates than different services.

Your merchant account provider will give you instructions for each process conditions when you sign up for the service. It is very important to observe that when prospects enter their own credit card info, the form that is used for this should reside on a site that has SSL, or secured socket layer technology. We use three companies to meet our needs. R3 does not have any affiliation with these companies and how they conduct business.

To process payments you need three things :

  1. Payment Gateway - Learn More
  2. Payment Processor - Learn More
  3. SSL Certificate - Learn More
